About
INDUSTRY

If you find yourself hungry in East Austin and craving something that’s equal parts bold, comforting, and expertly crafted, let us point you in the direction of Industry—a culinary hotspot that brings a little bit of everything to the table, and executes it all to perfection. This vibrant eatery has long been one of our personal go-to spots in the city, and we were thrilled (though not surprised) when Guy Fieri rolled through in early 2025 to give it the national recognition it truly deserves on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

A New American Classic—Austin Style

Industry captures the essence of what a New American diner should be. It’s casual but elevated, scratch-made but unfussy, and always buzzing with a good-time vibe that makes you want to stick around well after the plates are cleared. The entire concept here centers around community, craft, and comfort—and it's easy to see why this has become a must-stop for locals and visitors alike.

From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a modern, open-concept space with industrial accents, a killer patio for sunny-day hangs, and staff that treat you like an old friend. On select nights, you’ll find live music that amplifies the already energetic vibe. And for sports fans, they’ve got you covered with major games always playing. Whether you’re rolling through for a quick happy hour or settling in for a full feast, Industry caters to every type of diner.

Everything Made from Scratch—Every Time

What really makes Industry shine is the from-scratch philosophy. Every dish that leaves the kitchen is built with care and attention, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and a little Austin flair. There’s no frozen filler or heat-lamp mediocrity here—everything is made in-house, made to order, and made to impress.

Their daily specials are always worth asking about, as the chefs frequently change things up to keep the menu exciting. We've been lucky enough to sample quite a few over the years, and trust us when we say there’s not a weak link in the lineup.

Highlights You Won’t Want to Miss

We've eaten our way through much of the menu at Industry, and narrowing down the must-haves is no easy task. But if it’s your first visit—or your 50th—here are some all-star dishes to keep on your radar:

Smoked Wings – Perfectly crispy with deep, smoky flavor and just the right amount of heat.

Fish Sandwiches – Light, flaky, and full of flavor, topped with tangy slaw and house-made sauce.

Nachos – Piled high and loaded with your choice of guac, queso, or even juicy brisket. Shareable... but you won’t want to.

Juicy Burgers – Classic, flavorful, and cooked just the way you like them, these burgers hold their own in Austin's competitive burger scene.

Pork Belly Bites – Sweet, sticky, tender bites of perfection. These are always on our table.

Smoked Brisket Pastrami Sandwich – A flavor bomb in every bite, this sandwich is one of the best we've had anywhere—smoky, peppery, and packed with character.

Chicken Tinga Tacos – Spicy, savory, and piled high with pickled onions and house crema. Easily one of the best tacos in the city.

Chips with Pimento Cheese – A southern staple elevated with creamy, tangy pimento that’s so addictive we often order a second round.

And that’s just scratching the surface. We haven’t even touched on their amazing brunch offerings, or the fact that their cocktail program is rock-solid with local beers and creative house drinks that pair beautifully with everything on the menu.

More Than Just a Meal

What makes Industry more than just another place to eat is the full experience. You come here not just to fill your stomach, but to relax, unwind, laugh with friends, and soak up the East Austin vibe that’s so quintessentially Austin. It's a place that fosters connection—over food, drinks, or shared cheers during a game or live set.

And don’t skip the outdoor dining patio, especially on a warm evening. It’s one of our favorite spots in town to sip a drink, sample a few shareables, and let the good times roll.

Our Final Thoughts: Go Now

We’ve dined at Industry more times than we can count, and it’s always one of our top picks to recommend to anyone coming through Austin. There’s something for everyone, and no matter what you order, you can rest easy knowing you’re getting quality food served by people who love what they do.

Guy Fieri gave them the DDD spotlight for a reason—and once you visit, you’ll understand why. Next time you’re in East Austin, make the stop at Industry. Pull up a chair, grab a drink, and dig in. Tell them we sent you. Aired on July 25, 2025
