Easily, one of the top ten Mex-Tex locations in this state, thanks to the vision and culinary skills of Chef Rojos. We come here as often as we get a chance and we urge you to plan a visit as well. There are plenty of great dishes like the Mexican Meatball Soup (Caldo Albondigas) and the out of this world, Beef Enchiladas! Better yet, go all out with the large and filling Beef Tacos Nortenos. Hungry yet? We surely hope so.. as it always hits the spot when we dine here. A popular local spot at this point serving out fantastic homestyle fare in a fun, cantina style setting. Situated conveniently in the Deep Ellum, this family-run establishment has been at it since the early 90's. Again, we are most impressed with small family run diners that carry tradition passed down the line, such as the many generations of recipes and culinary skills Pepe's and Mito's Mexican Cafe is so famous for. It can easily be stated that these folks are one of the original players to actually put the term and cuisine style of Tex-Mex on the map. We're always cheering for the ma and pa style restaurants, and support them with all of our might. Start off with the Chips and Salsa here, but also consider so many favorites that include the freshly prepared Beef Fajita Plate, Pork Carnitas Tacos (with the spicy house hot sauce of course) and more including so many delicious Vegan options. You will be blown away from the service, decor, food and affordable prices!
