About THE JERK SHACK
A wonderful window-serve style Caribbean hot spot for any true foodie spotted in the city of San Antonio. It truly is like an authentic Caribbean eatery transported to Texas to serve you all the home-made and traditional dishes you'd find on any of the tropical islands. As the chef likes to proclaim, it's all about an artisan touch when it comes to the Caribbean cuisine served here. This spots is such a success thanks to the hard work and determination of the one and only Chef Nicola Blaque. With her credentials of Culinary Institute of America, in 2018 she started up The Jerk Shack and runs with her husband to this day. Family run spots are always our favorite as they always put the customer and satisfaction first, above the profits. In addition to the world-famous Jerk Chicken recipes here, they also crank out delicious Oxtails, Pork and Chicken meals. The Jerk Chicken is spicy and tasty and we found the Fried Chicken to always be crispy and moist. Other faves include the Curry Shrimp, Jamaican Ginger Beer Soda, Cabbage, Plantains and more. Portions are huge and the price is always far below one would expect at such an authentic amazing place to eat!
